A gothic vintage skirt with Edwardian styling, dating to around the 1960s, by Marion Donaldson. Black viscose, woven with a watered silk effect , below the knee, full A line. Zip & button fastening, with a ruffle trim around the lower half. The label reads ' Marion Donaldson ' in a nice 1960s does Art Nouveau font, purple on white ( which i think dates this to the 1960s, it could be a little later ) along with a small ' 10 ' CONDITION Excellent, a couple of very small marks. Approx measurements - waist 26 length 30.5 IMPORTANT INFORMATION - The pieces i sell are often over 100 years old & rarely in perfect condition, i make every effort to describe & show any faults, so PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION, READ THE CONDITION REPORT, STUDY THE IMAGES & ASK ANY QUESTIONS before buying. A pretty vintage party dress dating to the 1950s. One piece, vibrant yellow - underneath a silk like synthetic, over this a lovely machine lace, woven with a pattern of repeating daffodils. The bodice is fitted, with a centre back ' Ace ' zip, pointed waist seam & diagonal pleating at the bust. Sweetheart neckline with straps. The skirt is in layers of the synthetic silk, net & the lace, creating a full soft A line to below the knee. CONDITION Slight wear, i find two small holes in the lace on the skirt, it's possible i've missed one or two but nothing obvious. The hook for the eye at the top of the zip is missing. Possibly three bones removed from the bodice. The bodice has been taken in at the sides.
