Overview: For your consideration is this quite interesting piece. This was a German made ELGIN watch. From what I could find out is that the Americans had watches made all over the world including Switzerland & Germany. They slapped their label on it & sold it either in the US or to avoid import taxes, directly in the country of origin. This one is equipped with a classic German movement, the PUW 1261 automatic movement, made in Pforzheim. I've seen this movement in a few German watches, so I was quite surprised to find it in an ELGIN. The watch is overall in nice condition & very wearable. The macros don't really do it justice. It looks nice on the wrist & is in very good condition, especially the dial. We have put a new bracelet on the watch & gave it a new crystal. It is running reliably. It even carries it's original ELGIN crown. Condition: Condition Case: 7/10 Case shows signs of age like scratches & rub off but is overall in nice condition for the age. This fully mechanical watch consists of a steel case that houses a beautiful & well running EBEL Cal.95 that is based on an AS1525 by Swiss company Adolph Schild, Grenchen, Swiss. The watch is set up as a two hand-setup. So, there is no visible seconds-hand which makes the already slick looking dial even more reduced & elegant designwise. The watch features a stainless steel case, a white textured dial with golden hands. The watch is overall in vintage condition. The case shows minor signs of age. There is some rub off & possibly dirt on the dial. It is readable & there is basically no rub off on the indices or letters. The crystal has been replaced & the watch is delivered with a new leather strap. The watch is all original & comes with the original receipt from 1966. The case back has been engraved. Tech Notes: Movement starts running with the first twist of the crown. Amplitude is good & movement runs solid with minor deviation. Case is in good condition. Dial would benefit from cleaning. The company is one of the most traditional Swiss watchmaking companies & was founded in 1856 in Neuchâtel. This fully mechanical watch consists of a gold plated steel case that houses a beautiful & well running Cal.1525 by Swiss company Adolph Schild, Grenchen, Swiss. The watch is set up as a two hand-setup. So, there is no visible seconds-hand which makes the already slick looking dial even more reduced & elegant designwise. Taking about the dial. Here we have a well preserved silver-sunburst dial with the companies name under 12 but otherwise no numbers but simple markers in gold. Very elegant design. The watch is delivered with a brand new "Hirsch" leather strap with lizard print. Tech Notes: Movement runs & keeps time. Setting works smooth. Winding works.
