Someone once loved them. That much is clear. A man, a woman, & their daughter , caught in the stillness of a portrait, touched by a careful hand with pale color. This locket, may have been carried through war. It may have sat in a pocket while cities fell, or been held tightly in hands that trembled at the sound of telegrams. It may have been all someone had left or the one reason to come home. We bought in an old enchanted store in Paris but the clothing of the inhabitants of this pendant suggest Germany or Austrian 1930-1940.
