A stunning Edwardian-era brooch set with a red faux ruby stone (possibly glass paste). It was probably made in the 1890s or the early 1900s. It is a brooch but it also looks very lovely as a pendant if you put a chain through behind the brooch pin & thus make it into a necklace. It is likely gold-plated, but this has not been tested, Measurements: diameter ca. 3,2 cm / 1 2/8 inch. Weight ca. 4,4 g. Condition: Very good antique condition. Signs of wear in accordance with the age of this piece. Outer ring lightly dented. Gilding (presumably) rubbed off in some places, such as along the sides (see photos).
