A stunning vintage evening dress dating to the 1970s - Victorian styling & ditsy floral print - very cool, very now. One piece, layered - underneath a solid black silk like synthetic, over this a lightweight semi sheer cotton, or cotton blend, slightly textured, dark grey with an all over ditsy floral print in pinks, blues & greens. The fabric is cleverly cut so that the print density increases towards the waist & hem, with a sparse scattering around the bottom frill. Centre back zip, fitted bodice with interesting angular darts, tall ruffle collar with a narrow band of plain fabric, long sleeves with flaring ruffle cuff. The waist is trimmed with a black ' silk ' ribbon & bow. The skirt forms a narrow A line, with a deep frill around the bottom. The label reads ' Donerica Mayfair W1 ' CONDITION Excellent, a couple of small pale marks on the hem frill. A stunning vintage high fashion evening dress dating to the 1960s / 1970s - essentially a 1930s style in 1970s fabric, with fab bishop sleeves - very cool, very now. Obsessed ! One piece, in layered synthetics - underneath a solid orange silk like fabric, over this a semi sheer in vibrant orange, with a brilliant all over psychedelic print of stylised soft edged flowers & cloud shapes, filled with patterns of squares in blue, white, navy & grey / orange. The dress fastens in the back with a zip & hooks, the bodice fitted , with a turned collar, the fabric at the front gathered in to the neck. The waist is trimmed with a narrow band of orange velvet ribbon, with a horizontal bow & sashes to the front. The sleek Narrow A line skirt falls to about calf length ( depending how tall you are..) Amazing sleeves - layered, underneath a fitted sleeve in the lining fabric, over this a huge bishop sleeve in the floral, billowing to full volume at the wrist, with a fitted cuff that fastens with hooks. CONDITION Excellent, very small marks in one area near the hem. A striking Victorian antique skirt dating to the 1890s with Chinoiserie / Orientalism styling. One piece, quite petite, possibly for a teenager, in striped yellow & black cotton with silk to the front. A line, longer in the back, with hooks at the waist, eyes which would have connected the bodice & later snappers. The front panel is in vibrant, glossy yellow silk, with bands of embroidered silk applied in chevrons. The embroidered pieces are black, with Chinese dragon heads & decorative borders embroidered in metallic gold, finished with a small bow in the yellow silk at the point of each chevron. Each side of the silk panel is finished with a narrow band of metallic gold braid. CONDITION Good, slight wear, the ribbons are a bit frayed & the gold braid has a few loose threads. Slight age related discolouration / fading ( my camera didn't like the striped fabric & has made it look pale & patchy, it's more yellow than it appears & the colour is more even ) Snap fasteners have been added later. A super stylish vintage Art Deco cocktail dress dating to the 1930s / 1940s. One piece, in black crepe, semi fitted ( this would have been worn with a belt, the belt shown isn't period & isn't included ) fastening with zips at the side & back neck, ' Eclair ' & ' Lightning '. Fabulous Deco detail, at the back a set in piece, shaped like a geometric tie, decorated with small flat metal studs - plain silver, ribbed gold. At the front shoulders & hips are pin tuck pleats forming Deco starbursts. The sleeves are cut extra long to be worn gathered, full at the shoulder, tapering to fitted cuffs, trimmed with more studs & fastening with snaps. The waist seam is cut to a deep point at the front, the skirt narrow when belted, finishing below the knee. CONDITION Excellent - very slight wear, a couple of tiny nibbles, small very feint marks & some loose threads at the waist seam. A bit creased. The back neck zip is a bit shiny, it may be a replacement. A glamorous vintage Art Deco evening dress dating to the 1930s / 1940s. One piece, in a silk like synthetic, glossy black reflecting red tones ( almost metallic, this hasn't really shown in the images ) with an all over woven design of vibrant red flowers ( they really catch the light ) The dress fastens in the back with a ' Lightning ' zip & hook, & has a pleated bust, gathered straps & pleated pocket like detail at the hips, accentuating the silhouette. Loose fitting, this would have been worn belted as shown ( the belt isn't period, & isn't included ) The long skirt falls straight, puddling on the floor in three rounded pieces reminiscent of the petals of a flower, longer in the front ( which seems to have been a thirties trend, not super practical but I've seen this on several gowns & skirts of the era ) CONDITION Mostly excellent. Slight wear, some very small holes & marks around the lower part of the skirt. The straps are lined with net, this is damaged with some fraying visible. Some loose stitching at the top of the pleats. A gothic antique / vintage black lace flapper dress dating to the 1920s - gothic & flapper not usually being two words you'd find in the same sentence, but here we have it..One piece, typical twenties straight up & down silhouette, with a sheer black silk underdress, finishing above the bust with shoulder straps in white. Over this black lace is applied in a tabard like fashion, gathered & attached at the dropped waist, with loose fan sleeves. The lace has a Chantilly like floral design, the edges cut to scallops following the pattern. Similar design at the back, with an open section showing the silk underdress, & two tiers of the lace at the skirt. CONDITION Wear around the edges with some loose threads that need trimming. Some small holes in the lace, only really visible where the lace is layed over the white, & at the front neck line. Some small pale dots on the silk at the back.
