This is a handcrafted combination copper ring featuring a polished Australian Jarrah overlay. The ring on display is roughly 4mm wide with a bevelled interior. Each ring is made using genuine recycled metals & a combination of traditional jewellery making techniques. Combination rings which feature a wooden overlay are made by integrating the bentwood method to a metal ring. This method involves wrapping a strip of wood veneer around the surface of a chosen metal interior once the metal has been formed & polished. A permanent bond is then created using a special adhesive to complete the overlay. Once the bonding process is complete, the wooden overlay then receives the same sanding & polishing treatment as the metal interior for a smooth gloss finish whilst still preserving the natural aesthetic of the wood grain. The bentwood technique remains our method of choice for any sort of wooden ring as it not only increases durability to the ring, but is also a more sustainable technique which guarantees minimal material waste.
