Hagi was considered one of the best players in the world in the 1980s & 90s & is considered by many to be the greatest Romanian footballer of all time. He is also the all-time leading goalscorer for the Romania national football team (alongside Adrian Mutu) with 35 goals. After starting his career in Romania with Farul Constanța & later playing for FC Sportul Studențesc Bucureşti & FCSB, he played in the Turkish league with Real Madrid & Barcelona in Spain, Brescia & Galatasaray in Italy; Hagi is one of the few football players to have played for both Spanish rival clubs Real Madrid & Barcelona. He won numerous titles during his club career while playing in four different countries: three Romanian League titles, two Cupa României titles & the European Super Cup with Steaua București - with which he also reached the 1988-89 European Cup final. He won the Supercopa de España with Real Madrid, the Anglo-Italian Cup with Brescia, another Supercopa de España with Barcelona, & four Super League titles, two Turkish Cups, the UEFA Cup & the UEFA Super Cup with Galatasaray in Turkey.
