This elegant piece is crafted from soft black leather & features an unusual expanding "scissor frame" opening mechanism, topped with an engraved brass lid. Once opened, the internal brass structure unfolds beautifully, creating a wide circular opening - both practical & visually striking. The bag is lined with fine black fabric & includes two short leather-wrapped handles. This type of mechanism was used in a very limited number of high-end evening bags in the late Victorian & Edwardian periods, making this piece highly collectible.
