A FABULOUS back view on this 50s/60s Fredericks of Hollywood dress! I'm sure it's in a catalog somewhere! The front is also hourglass curves & then the back dips LOW. To the waist. THEN all the ruffles make the butt look amazing! :D The ruffles curve to the hem & add interest to the front. The dress is a soft rayon taffeta in bright turquoise blue. The dress has a boatneck neckline & is double darted at the bust for fit. The waist is seamed, then the fitted skirt extends from there with double darting to each side. The dress closes with a back metal zipper in the skirt & a hook & eye. There is a snap for the ruffle to go over the zipper. LABELS: "Fredericks of Hollywood Filmland Creations". The label was frayed but a bit more readable before cleaning. It is now very frayed but it is still there. MEASUREMENTS of garment: Modern size estimate: xs/s Bust: 36" Waist: 26" Hip: 36" Length from shoulder to natural waist: 15.5" Length from natural waist to hem: 24" Hem allowance if needed: 0" CONDITION: Good. It is structurally sound & wearable. Price reflects flaws. Please look at the pictures! It has a little bit of iron shine from the past. There is a spot on the front that I tried to remove, but it did not budge. You can try some more or add a sash belt to hide it or if you can lose some of the hip you could hide it in a seam. OR add rhinestones? OR an applique? It needs to be artfully hidden. I really like the rhinestones all over idea. The top of the zipper is a bit rusty looking but it is fully functional & not stiff.
